Full Moon Party, Koh Phangan, Thailand
It's October 30th and it's Full Moon Party. Once I entered Haad Rin area, I
felt so excited. I saw hundreds of people wearing neon color tank and short. People
painted their face and body with neon color; orange, yellow, red and green for
the sake of fun of it. The neon body paint is available near entrance gate. It’s
glow in the dark. Tatha helped us to paint our body. She has hidden talent. How come you are not telling me? haha. It cost 100 Bath for three colors; red, yellow,
and orange with a brush. Tatha painted her right leg with Live Your Life
2 The Fullest, and other leg with leopard skin, RAWR!. Abang draw skull on his left
arm, and peace sign on other arm. I painted an indian style
on my face and body. No need to wear your branded party dress, just put neon
body paint on.
The Full Moon Party entrance fee
is 100 Bath each person. It’s not Full
Moon Party, without bucket of joy. Bucket of joy consist of a bottle of
whiskey, coca cola, and red bull. It’s all mixed together inside a small
plastic bucket that you can share with your friend. It cost only 200 Bath. The
main party area was crazy, thousands people dancing into the beat. The travelers slash party goers dance like no
one watching, just dance like gaga said. Bucket of joy was injected to our
vain; I feel tons of energy in my body that keeps me dancing and dancing. Bunch
of stages are playing many different beat from house music, R&B, Top 40 and
trance.
I remember there's was
rain when DJ was playing On the floor by J.LO but people keeps dancing,
shouting "Brazil, Morocco, London to Ibiza, Straight to L.A. New York,
Vegas to Africa." and singing "Dance the night away, Live your life and
stay out on the floor, Dance the night away, Grab somebody, Drink a
little more, Lalalalalalalalalalalalalala-a..." People also excited when
they hear Welcome to St. Tropez by DJ Antoine. It was incredibly
amazing
party. I don’t mind to repeat it again and again. :p
According Phangan.info,The first full moon party either
went off in 1987 or 1988, no one is really sure; and it was someone
birthday. It was such a good party the
same crew met up again at Paradise Bungalows and partied under the next full
moon. It's become global dance music festival that it is today, attracting thousands
of visitors from every walk of life.
There are now over 10 major sound
systems on the beach playing everything from trance to drum and bass with each
one representing different genre. Crowd sizes vary from 8,000 in low season up
to 30,000 in the high season; and inline with the party’s growing popularity,
Haad Rin has been expanding to accommodate its guests. There are now over 5,000
rooms, and hundreds of cool bars, boutique restaurant, and of course great
night life. If you want to come and enjoy the party consider booking a room on
Koh Phangan as accommodation gets jammed well before the full moon date.
Fire dancers are performing
during the full moon party. It’s cool how they play with fire. I wish I could play fire dancing. The crew
lights of fire to Full Moon Party Haad Rin Koh Phangan display on 00.00 a.m. Can you feel
the heat of the night? We dance and we
kiss under the full moon that lights up the beach.
How to get to the Full Moon Party
The island of Koh Phangan host of
Full Moon Party is couple of hours of Thailand’s mainland. There are public
transportation such as bus, night train, ferry and plane. Train takes us nine
and half hours from Hua Lampong (Bangkok Railway Station) to Surathani. Plane
will cut your time, it won’t take forever. Air Asia and Nok Air are your best
choice. From Surathani to Koh Phangan, we use a ferry. Lomprayah (ferry) provides bus to take us from airport or station to
Don Sak pier. Book your accommodation a month before the party. It would be
fully booked if you do it after the party. Make sure everything under control.
