Should i travel to a new country or explore my own country?

An interesting question for us to answer, should I travel to a new country or explore my own country? Traveling to another country is easy nowadays because the airlines offer affordable price to travel from one country to another. People often call it backpacking, a form of  low-cost, or independent travel. They say Go See The World! an inspirational quote that encourage people to go abroad. Asia is an alternative to backpacking because it offers a low cost of living, a new culture will be more interesting and challenge you more, an exotic beach that hidden in every country, and unique food that tempts our tongues. Unlike the rich or high society, they travel abroad because other countries offer shopping paradise, to stay in luxury hotel, to watch concert their favorite band, to party like a rock star, to donate money for charities and to get the nose done. Everyone has a reason to travel abroad.

The next question is how well you know your country? A questions might bothers you because you grew up in your country but you do not know much about your country. Do you know how many language in your country? How many island in your country? Where is the exotic beach hidden? Where is the best diving spot in your country? Where is the highest mountain in your country? If you know all the answers, either you are good at school or you explore your country.

For Indonesian youth, I encourage you to travel and explore our country. Have you been to Morotai? Have you ever visited Kri Island on Raja Ampat? Have you ever hiked Puncak Jaya? I know it cost you but it worth a try. My first trip with my friend was Karimun Jawa in 2010. From Karimun Jawa to Jogja, Banyuwangi, Bali, Gili, Komodo, and Derawan. I travel for work to Mataram, Kupang, Maumere, Makassar, Manado, Kendari, Gorontalo, Ambon, Ternate, Sentani, Biak, Sorong, Merauke, and Timika. I travel more than I could imagine. I learn new culture and meet new people every month. The best part is, I celebrated my birthday in Raja Ampat this year. Why don't you spend time and celebrate your birthday in your favorite place? Not only once, I visited Raja Ampat four times. Before Raja Ampat, I dive in Bali, Gili, Komodo, Togean, and Morotai. You will crave for more new place and new culture to be explored. By exploring your country, we support our local tourism, and  embrace our country has to offer.  After you explore Indonesia, I bet you gain more confidence  to talk to foreigner about Indonesia because you have witnessed the beauty of Indonesia.

Be proud of your country. It's a big part of what makes you the person you are.
